Summer 2022 - Camera Skills: Photographing People

Are you interested in the world of photography? If so, this summer photography workshop is for you. You will learn about the power of portrait photography as a tool to capture the lives and stories of people. The workshop will introduce you to the DSLR camera and the many aspects of creating a dynamic portrait including lighting, posing and composition. All photography equipment and other materials will be provided during the workshop. Participants just need to bring an interest in photography and a spirit of exploration to the workshop. Participants' works will be exhibited at the end of the workshop. 
Worksop dates and time: Tuesday and Thursday afternoons 1pm - 2.30pm
Six weeks beginning June 14 - July 21

Draft Schedule
Week 1 - Introduction to portraiture + DSLR camera skills
Week 2 - Setting up an indoor studio
Week 3 - Portraiture studio test shoot
Week 4 - Street photography portraiture on Wells Street 
Week 5 - Photo Review and printing
Week 6 Field trip to Columbia College Chicago and exhibition planning
