By the Fringe - Alessandro Bo with emerging artists

This creative cultural exchange project centers on the work of Alessandro Bo, the 2024-25 Diane Dammeyer Fellow at Columbia College Chicago. Originally from Mexico City (b. 1982) and currently based in Oaxaca, Bo’s photographic research titled By the Fringe investigates the effects of gentrification in Oaxaca de Juárez, driven by tourism and American expatriates. Twelve emerging artists from Oaxaca and Chicago will be mentored by Bo as they explore the periphery of Oaxaca city using analog photography and walking.

Project Dates: January 13th - Janaury 24th, 2025 
Exhibition Opening: January 24th, 2025 @ 4pm - Xicoténcatl 303 Centro, 68000 Oaxaca de Juárez, Oax.
